Hello everyone. My name is Jack, and I am the proud parent of Pepper. the vet says he is a Giant Pomeranian, which before him I never know existed. He is not a large pup by any means, but he is bigger than a standard Pom. He is my little guy, and I love him like crazy.
I am joining this board to be with other Pom lovers. I am typically shy and don't talk much, but recent events have pushed me to open up. My little guy has been at the Vet all week, and it does not look like he is coming home this weekend. Monday, he was very sick so I took him in. He was diagnosed with diabetic ketoacidosis, which is a potentially fatal disease. He is diabetic, and the ketoacidosis can result from complications from it. I miss my little guy, but things are looking hopeful. His blood sugar is under control, and the vet even said he is surprised with how well he is doing with how sick he was. However, his kidney levels are high, so they want to keep him monitored, which I do not disagree with.
I know I am new, but could you keep us in your thoughts. The stress is difficult, as is the vet bill that we are facing. It led us to open a GoFundMe, which will hopefully be a big help.
It's great to be here, and I look forward to being a part of this community.
